1:1 Throttle linkage?

I just got a Quick Fuel billet throttle plate, and it came with a link for 1:1 throttle. I just stayed with the normal 40% set-up, but was curious if anyone has tried that on a mild engine. This is on the 396, by the way.

I did put the link on and played with it a little before installing the plate, it isn't a pure 1:1, as there is a few degrees of primary movement before the secondaries start moving, but I'm wondering what it would do on a street/strip set-up.

May just put it on for kicks and see what it does. . .

on the street it may cause a slight bog, having both of the plates open at a low RPM will kill what air speed is in the venturis

I haven't tried it yet. Too much else going on.

The problem I see would be the lack of a secondary power valve - it would be rich under cruise. I doubt it would cause a bog, though.

I'm not sure the 1:1 would make much difference the way I'm running it now, using a 2-step rev limiter. I floor it against the limiter, then let go of the brakes and button at the 3rd amber. If I get told not to use the the 2-step (the rule wording is vague, opening it up to interpretation - nobody has complained so far), then the 1:1 might make more sense - I'd be stalling with all 4 barrels, which should make the stall-to-WOT better.
