ok so im having vaporlock problems and decided i would take off the cartar 4 bbl and put the holly 4bbl on my car because i heard cartars are prone to taking heat from the engine easier.... well i got the holly on there and now when it runs it idles pretty rough and when you give it gas it slowly goes back down to idle, kinda like the linkage is sticking but its not, im not sure what either flowed but the holly did come off of a ford pickup and it worked fine on it, anyone got any ideas why it would do this?

 

sounds like it's too lean, did you adjust the idle mixture screws? if not

go to holley.com and read the instruction manual for the carb you have and then report back IF it still has issues.

 

i havn't messed with the idle screws yet, the carb was rebuilt by a shop around here in may 06 and worked fine on my truck, but they are two different motors, ill look into it, thanks

 

also do you know where the part number is on the carb that i can use to look up which one it is?
