What's goin' on?
I went to the junk yard & got a non-CC Quad for my '73 Nova. It previously had the LG4 carb. I rebuilt the non-cc carb, and installed it. But it has never run well. I've adjusted the base idle, and there are two more screws on the air horn, I think that one is for the air bleed, and the other is the max main needle flow or something. The funny thing is that the idle mixture screws make no difference all the way in or all the way out. On other cars, the motor would stall when leaning them out. The car is fast & fun, but the idle is really rough. Also the idle fluctuates, (high idle then lower idle). And the fast idle screw is all the way out. Also, the exhaust is popping alot on the right bank.
I have a mildly built 350 long tube headers, 3" with X-over & Flowmasters dumping before the axle. And a Performer intake. Turbo Hydro 350 to back it up and either 3.08 or 3.42 rear. (I'm not too sure which at the moment)
Where to go from here???????
