popping secodaries

Engine: 5.0 liter
Transmission: 700R4
popping secodaries
My 1986 Z28 has a 5.0 carburated. The problem is when the secondaries kick in there is a loud popping noise throught them. I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction because i have no idea what is causing it. Thank you.
