Q-Jet and my EGR Help!!!

I have a 1985 Chevy Camaro Berlinetta with the LG4 engine and i just out in an edelbrock 2101 intake without Egr and know the car just stalls when i start it up. i was told its because the carb is computer controled and with out the EGR its confused and screwing up the mix. is there any way i can disconect something and trick the carb, or anything? thanks

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

There's nothing to that. The computer expects to see a load on the EGR solenoid or it'll set a trouble code, but that's it. I've got my solenoid hooked up but no EGR valve (vacuum source plugged off), and it runs just fine.

Look for vacuum leaks or something not adjusted properly - timing (did you set it with a timing light and the EST connector disconnected?), other carb adjustments (IAB, TPS, etc.).

One thing at a time is a good approach. Timing is #1. Vacuum leaks, carb adjustments next.
