Fuel Volume?
Tried doing a quick search and couldn't find what I was looking for. Maybe someone can refresh my memory on what the volume parameters are for a carbed engine? For some reason 1 pt in 15 sec (free flow) is sticking in my memeory but was wanting some verification.

Re: Fuel Volume?
depends on how much power you are making. Typically you measure how long it takes to fill a 1 gallon container, then you can get a gph reading which would tell a HP conversion, I believe magnafuel has them on their website. Regardless a fuel pressure guage is good to have on a drag car to watch it in 3rd gear is when demand would be highest.

Re: Fuel Volume?
from the Chilton Book:
Volume test:
Assuming, the pressure is good (about 5 PSI) the lines are not obstructed and filter is clean.
Run the fuel line to a graduated container. Run engine at idle. It should take approx. 30 seconds or less to fill one one pint. If less, there migth be a problem with pump

Re: Fuel Volume?
Good info and formulas for finding how much of a fuel pump (based on its free flow rating) and what size fuel lines you need to support a engine of a known horsepower output.
