carb problem on engine swap!help please guys!!
my friend is restoring a 1983 camaro berlinetta.he remove the v6 engine and he put a 260ci v8 oldsmobile engine out of a cutlass.this motor is factory equiped with a 2bbl rochester carb.my friend install a holley street domintor intake and a 4bbl holley carb with mechanical secondary.now when the car is cold works just fine but when the car rich normal temprature the engine stops...sometimes backfires...wont start easy again...and when it does when you put the trans in drive or reverse and touch the gas pedal the engine stops again.i think that the carb is too big for that engine and overflows with too rich mixture but i want to hear your opinion.thanks a loy guys!

How big is the carburetor? About 450 CFM is all it could ever need.

The Holley Street Dominator mounts square bore carbs.
Looking at that carb again, it's for multiple carb systems only. It doesn't have a secondary pump, even though the secondaries are mechanical, so that isn't a good idea.
Perhaps the 0-8007 instead. 390 CFM, vacuum secondary.
