fuel problem

i just recently bought a 85 chevy truck. after about 30 minutes of driving it feels like the gas cuts out. I replaced the electric fuel pump the in line filter and took out the filter in the carb. Is there a pump in side the tanks. if not what else could it be. any suggestions? thanks

Re: fuel problem

well if its carb'd then it should have a mechanical fuel pump on the side of the block,a electric fuel pump would pump like 20-30 psi and that would literally drown a carb, you need like 5-8 psi to run a carb properly, thats all i can say, there will be better people on here to help you out as im still learnin about old motors and such
