v6 varajet carb....needs carb choke-pulloff replaced
Hey guys I was wondering does anyone have a diagram to take me through a step by step when I attempt to replace my carb choke pulloff?...I have a Firebird '84 v6 carbed....And another thing...How to I know if its a seconday or primary choke-pulloff that I need to replace? I was just told it was bad and its true because I have to hold the choke open and its a bitch to get it started.

V6 varajet?
I'm not too versed on these, but a 2bbl won't have secondaries will it ? So you should only have one choke pulloff (just like most q-jets only have one choke pulloff which doubles as the secondary pulloff....).
It's just two screws and you replace it, easy as pie. This is on a q-jet, I imagine the varajet is just the front half of the q-jet isn't it?
Only replace it if it's leaking. Remove the vacuum line and plug it with your finger, push the rod in. If it pulls out on it's own then replace it, if it holds then it's fine and your problem lies elsewhere in the choke system.
