smoke out of carb

smoke out of carb

i just switched to a holley blue pump when i turn the motor off there is white smoke coming out of the carb it used to do it before but not as much. is it just unburnt fuel.

I think it's all in your head, unless the pump is putting out too high a fuel pressure?

Might want to check and adjust float levels. Check the pressure too. Yes, it is most likely unburnt fuel.

When you shut the engine off, fuel gets drawn into the intake manifold that never makes it into the combustion chamber. The heat in the intake manifold and engine vaporizes that fuel, and some of it makes its way up out of the carb. When it hits the cooler air, it "fogs" into visible small droplets which looks like smoke. It's more like a cloud than smoke.

Completely normal. The factory put a charcoal bed into the air cleaner to absorb those vapors and keep them from getting into the atmosphere.
