edelbrock thunder series vacuum help

edelbrock thunder series vacuum help

ive got my car running but there was a whistling noise and i forgot about the vacuum port on te back of the carb so i plugged it with my finger to make sure that was it and it was. when i plugged it it killed the motor. what is that vacuum port for and where is it supposed to be hooked to?

ya i ewnt off the intake manifold to a vac reserve canister to the booster.

Factory carb set-ups had the brake booster vacuum going to the carb base.

If you've got all of your vacuum needs covered (PCV?), then plug it. If it ran with it open and died with it blocked, then you've got some tuning to do.

ya i probably just need to tune it when its plugged lol duh. cause we had it idling with no chooke or nething then i was just overlooking making sure everything was good and i noticed that and plugged it and then it died.
