Fuel Line Question
I have a 1987 Firebird and Im getting ready to put my 350 in. Im running a mechanical fuel pump but it only has an inlet and an outlet. Would it be alright if I block off the return line or should I get another mechanical fuel pump with a return. Like this one http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...ype=52&PTSet=A

Re: Fuel Line Question
Did this car have F.I. ? If so I think you may have to remove the elect. pump in the fuel tank if you are going to use a mech. pump. I am not sure but I don't think the mech. pump will be able to pull fuel through the elect. pump. I have a 1984 with a 355 installed and just replaced my mech. pump. Buy a pump from a 1984 Z28 H.O. that has a return line and you being fron NC where its hot I would for sure not delete the return line. I bought my pump from NAPA for around $25.

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Assuming this is a 305 to 350 conversion only, the Carter M6626 is a good choice (I've been running it for 3 years). Also, you should have an in-tank electric in an '87, even if originally carb'd, so you should use a return-type mechanical pump.

Re: Fuel Line Question
Thanks for the replies. Im gonna go ahead and switch my fuel pump to the carter. And yes this is just a basic LG4 to a 350 swap.
