Air-Gap RPM Dizzy Boss FUBAR???

Now I may be incorrect but I was always under the assumption the dizzy was supposed to sit on a level surface!!!

I opened my Performer RPM Air-Gap after reading some issues with castings here and what do you know? The dizzy boss is angled about 10 or more degrees towards the drivers side.

What to do now...?

I would be sending it back to where it came from,(at their expense)and getting a replacement that's correct.I'm sure their not meant to be like that.

Yea I called Summit last night and had a shipping label emailed to me in 5 minutes. Mandy at Summit was friendly and the exchange (so far) has been cake!!! Its going back today but I have a feeling this won't be the end...

Getting ready to send Edelbrock a nice little email as well.

But that flange is supposed to have some angle?

The top of the distributor is centered between the heads, while the bottom of the distributor is on the side of the cam which also is centered. Then the mounting flange has to have a slight angle. Or am I missing something here?

No, apparently you are correct. I went to the trouble of sending mine back thinking it was screwed and now I'm finding out it does sit at an angle. I have never noticed it in any of my intakes and the first responses to my thread on a couple web sites was something along the lines of "man that does sucks, send it back!"

I feel like a ffin moron now.

After browsing several forums some years now, my impression is the same. Some forum members are way to quick to write just that.

Sorry you had to go thru that, I'll post quicker next time!

You guys can't take all the blame by yourselves... Mandy at summit needs to carry the brunt! Did she not check on the possibility of the "issue" before sending a return label??

Just clowning around guys. Glad you got it straightened out, no pun intended...

Maybe you should correct this thread about Edelbrocks "terrible" castings as well...

Re: Air-Gap RPM Dizzy Boss FUBAR???

Yea no money lost yet, I just hope I don't have to pay shipping charges since nothing was wrong with it.

I feel bad for the email I sent Edelbrock but you are partly right YL...I explained the whole situation to Mandy and she then asked "well do you just want to exchange it then?" I'm not saying she should have known everything by any means but I did call at first to see if there was a problem to begin with.
