Noisy fuel pump, normal?
Noisy fuel pump, normal?
Running a Holly blue fuel pump on my 355 carbed engine. Its really noisy and very loud even from inside the car. Is this normal for this kind of fuel pump, don't have a lot of experience with them. Please help thanks.

Re: Noisy fuel pump, normal?
The pump should be as close to the tank as possible. I always used a piece of rubber between the pump and mounting surface to cut down on vibration.

X2.
I've ran 2 Holley blues on my 83 that I used to have, as well as a ProJection pump. Both styles were extremely noisy unless you used some sort of rubber bushing to isolate the pump from the mounting point. I used a leftover rubber sway bar bushing if I recall, and it helped a lot.
The rubber strip that they provide to isolate the pump from the mount is pretty cheesey, and didn't do a whole lot of noise reduction in my opinion.
