holley kickdown cable linkage question
holley kickdown cable linkage question
I just put a holly 600 on my 82 firebird and found that there isn't a linkage to install the kickdown cable. Is there a kit that I can buy that will have the linkage to run the kickdown cable? Not sure of the modle number so I'll have to repost that info. If there is anyone out there that can help please get back to me. Thanks guys.

Dan, welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Just to make sure you get started off on the right path, it's much more than a "kick-down" cable. It's a "throttle valve" cable, and needs to follow the throttle properly in order to give the transmission the right information to work on. Don't get it right, and internal transmission pressures will be wrong, and could burn up your transmission.

Is there a way to adjust it so that I dont burn up the tranny? I really want to take the time to do this right so I dont mess anything up dont have the $$$ to redo a mess up if you know what I mean.
Thanks Dan

the tranny is a th-350 so I dont know if the application will work the same. I am planning on swaping the th-350 for a 700r4 in the near future so any sugestions will help.
Thanks Dan

Re: holley kickdown cable linkage question
The TH350 does have a kickdown cable, and its operation is much less critical than the 700R4's TV cable.
Are you sure it's a TH350 and not a TH200c?

Re: holley kickdown cable linkage question
A 200c could have been stock for the car. It also has the square pan with the corner cut off. How many bolts are holding the pan on? If it's 11, it's a 200, if it's 13 it's a 350.
The TH200c does have a TV cable instead of a regular kick-down-only cable.

A TH200-4R has a TV cable, but a TH200C is an economy version of the TH350 with lock-up torque converter.

The TH250 is the economized TH350. There's no vacuum modulator on a TH200c, IIRC.

I'm not absolutely certain the cable attach stud is the correct one for the TH200C cable. It is correct for the TH700R-4 cable.

The connection is the same as the TH700R-4, so the corrector bracket should work.
