New motor need some help
Hello I just bought an 383 hear are the motor spec's
205/160 64cc patriot freedom heads
speed pro piston set 9.2 to 1
cam 110 center line 487-488 lift
corrected 505/506 with 1.6 roller rockers
228/229 duration @ 050
Pro Products typhoon dual plane intake close to the edelbrock RPM I think .
I need a little help with my carburetor choice . I currently have a Holley 4447 650 DP that needs a rebuild and a jet kit . I will probably end up dumping 100$ bucks into it . Would it be wise to spend my money on a different carb for this application . I do need the experience building and tuning , but this thing needs to work on initial star up . Car will see about 2000 street miles this summer & and maybe 30 1/4 passes Thanks .

Do you mean a 4777 DP?
It's the right carb for the job.

Thanks 57kid . It is the 4777-2 . I am also in the processes of plumbing this carburetor . I will be using a mechanical fuel pump , and want to know if I should plumb this up with 6an or 8an fuel line .

My $0.02....
Good cadidates:
650 vac secondary Holley/Demon for auto
650 or 750 mech secondary Holley/Demon for stick
750 q-jet (not alot of people like this option, but it is a good one if you know a good tuner)
