TECH QUESTION ABOUT EDEBROCK CARB!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody....quick question for you guys. I have an 85 Z28 with a 305 LG4, with Vortec heads. I just bought a brand new out of the box 600CFM Edelbrock carb. I've done the adjustment of the idle mix, and the idle RPM, but the car doesn't drive as well as it should. The rods and jets are the ones that came with the carb when I bought it. I know I am being very vague, but my question is the following:

For my application, what rod and jet size would be the most appropriate (part numbers are accepted)???????

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!

Re: TECH QUESTION ABOUT EDEBROCK CARB!!!!!!!!

if you got the electric choke, order Edelbrock 1487, if you got the manual choke order 1479.

Re: TECH QUESTION ABOUT EDEBROCK CARB!!!!!!!!

He just gave you the part # for a recalibration kit
http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/1487/10002/-1#

Check the sizes of what you have now and compare to what's in the kits.
With a kit, you can try a few different combinations to see how it works.

You replaced your Q-Jet with an Edelbrock (Carter)? Do you still have the Q-Jet?

Assuming that your idle mixture was set properly with a vacuum gauge, I would look into your timing and advance. I wouldn't worry too much about the rod and jet sizes, as they should be very close to what a 305 would need out o the box, even with the vortec heads....
