Replacing my Carb ??
Replacing my Carb ??
Looks like my stock Q jet is going to have to be replaced and i was looking for suggestions on what to go with. I have done a few small mods on my stock 305 but nothing major.
Shorty Headers , new Exhaust Flowmaster Super Series 44 ( no cat ), Swapped out the stock intake for an Edlebrock Torquer. I also removed all the pollution control crap
I don't know much about carbs but i definitly got to get my bird back on the road so any advice would be helpful.
I have ruled out the Street Avenger because have read alot of complaints about them. Would a Holley 600 Double Pump be too much? How are the Edelbrock carbs? Looking for the best performance for the buck and eaisiest to tune.
Thanks

Re: Replacing my Carb ??
hi, i just switched from a holley 750 double pumper to a edelbrock 1405 600cfm carb on my 350 and i love it..i know most people think i am crazy ,,,but the edelbrock is easy to tune and easy to eventually rebuild one day,,it starts better than the holley and has an electric choke that works great and it has no hesitation when i crush the gas pedal,,and to top it off,,,it saves a little fuel compared to my ever rich running holley...just a suggestion,,if you have q-jet,,i think you can rebuild it ,,for me q-jets are the best carbs ever made....but the edelbrock runs fine and is a nice inexpensive option for any mild 305 or 350...just my 2 cents...
