I can't say from personal experience, and I know people have said they used TBI cables on their carb conversion, but I'd guess you either need to use a different cable housing bracket, or get carb cables.

Re: throtle cable
had same issue after tbi to carb and drove me crazy fo a month.I used the holley bracket but had to make it set back about 1 inch to get the throttle cable in the right position. tv cable is self adjusting but in my case the cable was never getting extended all the way. what i did was drill a hole through a bolt and used a nut simalar to a brake cable stop from a bike, this moved the "stop" on the end of the cable 1" closer....after that the tv cabled adjusted correctly using the procedure to adjust it. It has to be pulled pretty hard to adjust correctly but after that mine is working perfectly. if you need a pic please let me know

Re: throtle cable
also i know that summit sells a universal cable kit that has a wider adjustment area but my stock one works great and a new cable was like $25 instead of the $50 for the univ...Good luck
Re: throtle cable
i bought the bracket that i am using from oreilly auto parts. it is made by mrgasket. it allowed me to use my tbi cables and it didnt cost much. now the black bracket that you see is what i put on it to make it a little stronger. i believe that i have also seen edelbrock brackets that will work well also.

Re: throtle cable
Im having a problem with this too, i swapped a 350 in and converted it to carburated. i made a bracket for the throtle cable and tv cable but i have no gas peddle now, it moves maybe an inch. the car is also having a hard time idling.

Re: throtle cable
Please, don't use that Mr. Gasket bracket. It is way to flimsy and it will bend over time (it actullay looks like the one in the pic above is bending). Spend the money on a nice CSR bracket. It will come with two small brackets that hook to the main bracket. One will work with the throttel cable, the other can be modified to work with the TV cable. You will need to mount one small bracket to the top of the main bracket (as shown in the instructions). The other one will need to go on upside down to get enough adjustment for the TV cable. In addition, you need the TV geoometry corrector for the carb linkage. It isn't about just pulling the cable far enough...the rate of pull counts also. If you have the wrong geometery, you risk burning up the trans at part throttle.
On my TPI swap, the stock cables all worked fine. I am not sure about the TBI cables.

one92rs: At the very least on that Mr Gasket Bracket I would use longer fastners from the picture it doesn't even look like the nuts have full thread engagement.
Riley_83z28: The issue with gas pedal movement is your throttle cable probably has some slack in it. The cable itself is a specific length and depending on how you mount it on the carb side changes how far open the throttle will go. Too close it won't open. Too far it will pop the plastic clip off the pedal side of the cable.
I'm using the Jegs polished Bracket. It's basically the same as the CSR one but has return springs on the front too. Adjust the brackets how you want it, mark it, red loctite it, and your set. I did run into issues with the outside return spring hitting the filter drop base and with both springs used along with the TV cable the BG Carb didn't want to go to full open butterflies even without the filter base on. I removed a spring and it worked fine.
Maybe I'll try both springs again now I have a different carb.
I will say I only used this type of bracket because the standard holley one didn't fit the BG carb I had. It didn't fit the flange properly. I might try the holley brackets now I have a Holley type carb.
