starting problem
yesterday i went out cruising in my 84 trans am and it started up right away three straight times. but later on that night when i was about to come back home it just cranked and i had to crank it ablut 4 time four it to start. what can be the problem? the starter? or does the carburetor need cleaning?

Was the engine turning over slowly when the starter was engaged, or was that normal?
Are we talking about a stock q-jet or something else?
Do you know if the choke is operating correctly?
How old are the plugs, plug wires, cap, and rotor?
