Getting the carb ich
Ive been wanting to swap over my tpi setup to a carb setup soo badly for quit some time now. my question is that do i have to have my electric fuel pump wit a regulator or can i run a mechanical pump and get rid of my electric in take one? i got a '69 chevy block under the hood so idk if that means anything special, i kno some newer blocks have the oil cooler lines but i dont.

You can do it either way. Using a mechanical pump will require dropping the tank, removing the electric pump, and installing a carb pickup line, but using the electric pump will require a $80 RETURN STYLE fuel pressure regulator such as the Mallory 4309 - owners choice.

5-7 psi for carb. If you get the mallory, do not hook up a vacuum line to it - it makes tuning impossible - it's strictly for a blower or something.

If I were to do mine again... I would have got the regulator and used the stock electric fuel pump to avoid the need to re route fuel lines and mount a new pump. Also! I dont think I would have went for the carb with the vacuum secondaries or electric choke. These two features seem to cause me nothing but prooooblems. I like the simple stuff, less things to go wrong.

IIRC you are the one with the Painless wiring harness and issues, right? You can put a relay under hood, with one side going to pump, other side going to battery, then add a ground and a hot-in-run on the other prongs - thus when key is turned on, relay gets energized, sending battery poer to the pump, and pump only gets juice whrn key is on.
