Car should be ready by this weekend..but I've got a few questions.

Well some of you may have seen my threads earlier but for those who didn't, I totalled my daily driver ford pickup a few weeks ago and had no money to buy a new vehicle. I was forced to put together an 88 camaro that was intended to be a track only vehicle. I've put this thing together for under a thousand bucks including the price of the car.

The engine(under 10k miles on rebuild): 350 l98 from an 89 formula bored .30. Stock heads. This cam http://www.sdparts.com/product/14093...rCamshaft.aspx
(though don't know why I didn't do it). Edelbrock 750 vac sec and performer intake

Tranny: TH350 with 3k stall and shift kit.

It has posi 3.73's sfc's battary reloction, maybe a couple little things I'm forgetting. I've got a pair of shorty's but for now it's got stock manifolds bolted up.

I'd really love to know if this cam is any different than the cam originally in this engine and because I haven't been in a 3rd gen in a while and just can't wait, what kind of times is this thing capable of and what kind of mpg's?

Thanks guys

Not sure what you mean there.

Times - probably 14's, maybe 13's when you improve the exhaust.

Mileage - probably pretty poor with the non-overdrive, non-TCC lock-up transmission and 3.73 gears. Depending upon how aggressively you drive it, maybe 10-13 MPG.

I'm just not sure why that cam was chosen when a more aggressive cam could have been picked for the money. So does anyone know if it's any different from the stock cam?

The times sound good I'd be happy with a lower 14 sec car. I was hoping to get 14mpg though. lol I'll be 700r hunting before too long.
