firebird carburetor
I replaced the carburetor on my aunt's '74 firebird. It's a rochester 2 barrel. So I replaced it and hooked everything up and started it, and it idles really rough. It almost dies when I put it in gear, however when you drive it, it drives smoothly, no hesitation, it just goes. But it's at idle that it starts to run bad.
Any idea what I should do?
I have never adjusted a carburetor before but I'm sure that's what needs to be done. What is the best way to go about it?
Thanks for any help given.

You need to adjust the idle mixture screws and idle speed.
But, since this can't be in any way related to 3rd gens, I'm afraid you'll have to Google if you need more info than that.
