I would like to replace the Quaderjet on my 83 305 with a Holley. Not sure of what problems or Holley carb to go with? Any advice wouldbe greatly appreciated. Thanks

You won't need any bigger than a 600cfm carb for a 305. I ran a street demon carb on my 84 Z28 that I used to have and it was great. The main things to know are that you will need an adapter plate which you can get anywhere and that you need an electric choke.

I wouldnt do it if your car is stock. Either get a rebuild kit or buy a rebuilt quad.

Re: carb replacement

These Quaderjet's are fantastic units when they are right. My car was running nice (So i thought) but after taking the carb apart, cleaning and adjusting everything my bird has come right to life. Very crisp throttle like you would expect from a new car. After 24 years i suppose it was due for it's first cleaning. Keep the quad.. my 2 cents
