TBI to Carb question

I have read the old threads about what needs to be done to do this just wanted to ask if the same will work for an 87 Chevy 4x4. I found a 98 Crate motor with vortec heads and an Edelbrock performer 2116 4barrel intake on it. I am hoping to drop this motor in with not much trouble. I know there will need to be a pressure regulator(Mallory). I guess what I am asking is it pretty much the same as when one of you guys do it to your cars? Thanks

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

Basically, the answer is "yes", but since this is a 3rd gen f-body dedicated Board, we'd appreciate it if you didn't ask truck-specific questions here.

Re: TBI to Carb question

Sorry bout that! It seemed the topic had been more widely covered on this forum than anywhere else I saw. Guess I will look for a truck forum.

If it can be applied to the 3rd gen f-body, it will be allowed.

Just don't ask things like how to drop the truck fuel tank. . .

Re: TBI to Carb question

Why yes, the operation for you 1987 FIREBIRD FORMULA 4X4 EDITION is indeed the same!

Good luck with the operation! :P

That would be even funnier if it hadn't been done already: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fabr...onversion.html
