Edelbrock 1406 problems

Hey there. New to the forums. Been searching Google for a few weeks now trying to see if i could find a fix to my problem, and I've come up with nothing. Figured I'd have to go a bit deeper to get some help with it and I happen to run across here this morning.

It's a 1975 El Camino, I dont know much about the engine and what all has been changed and stuff. I just bought it. I was told it was a 383 stroker but cant say it is or not. I do know its a 350 block though. The problem is between 45-55mph, depending on fast you get to the speed, it starts bogging down really bad. I've had a friend help me rebuild the carb and it runs better but still has the same problem. Like i said I dont have much information on anything with the car.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Any question just ask and I'll to my best to anwser them.
