EFI to Carb
I am swapping my 305 tpi to a 355 carburated engine. I was told that you need to change some things in the fuel system.I was wondering if there is anyone who knows what to do. Thanks.

Re: EFI to Carb
first lets get this out of the way before someone else does ( someone here is gonna tell you that the swap is illigal) . i hate that , but maybe now no one will mention it anymore
if you are goin to carb. you can use the pump in the tank but you will need a regulator for this. ( i have one i can sell by the way) this reg. has the return line on it. you also need a fuel gauge to make sure what pressure you have. the reg. i have is adjustable with the factory pump to go from 2-15lbs. there is another thread here somewhere that says how to hook up the pump through the oil sending switch. when i used mine i ran a swich to the relay.
if you dont want the factory pump... take the tank out , pull out the sending unit etc. take out the pump and put a peice of steel line (the same length )in place of it with a union fitting. sometimes also called a high pressure fitting. clamp on screening to filter the gas. put it all back together. and route your fuel lines to the pump on the block ( or use an aftermarket inline electric pump)
there are alot of threads that explain all about this. try doin a search. there were a few posts on this a day or two ago , so it shouldnt be hard to find, good luck

#1, welcome to thirdgen.org.
This is a common question. There is a sticky in the top section of this forum "Welcome to the Carburetor forum, please read". It contains this link: https://www.thirdgen.org/carbswap
(And, yes, swap to a carb in an '89 chassis is illegal in all 50 states for a street driven car.)
