simplifying carb
i got a stock 305 in my z28 and its a 2 barrel carb. it has so many vacuum hoses all over it and all i want to do is be able to take off that big air filter shell off so i can put a new filter on there and have it fully exposed. is there any way of doin that? and what vacuum hoses that can be removed? im not worried bout emmisions or loosin a little mpg's but i just want the engine to look better

Are you sure about that? The only 3rd gen f-bodies that got 2 bbl carbs were V6's.
You can put an open element air cleaner on as long as it has a drop base. A better route would be to add another snorkel. https://www.thirdgen.org/dualsnorkel That doesn't eliminate any vacuum hoses, but it does work better than the stock single snorkel, or an open element.
You can reroute and clean up, but every vacuum hose has a function. The two easiest to remove are A.I.R. and EGR. Removal involves plugging up holes after removing parts, and is, of course, illegal in all 50 of the United States for vehicles operated on public roads.

Re: simplifying carb
it aint a stock engine for the car, somebody put a new engine up in there.
alright then, i will see about the snorkel and if i can get it done
haha, im guessin that would probably not be the best route

Re: simplifying carb
"removing" vacuum lines, in my experience, is usually more trouble than its worth.
