fuel pump problems

Engine: strong 350
Transmission: stage3 700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.73
fuel pump problems

hey i ran a machanical fuel pump for a few weeks and it worked fine then out of now where i have no fuel dilivery. i still have the in tank pump that does not work. i have been told you can suck through that pump? and i also have a bigger cam, could that have messsed up my pump of was it sucking through the in tank that did it

The cam wouldn't affect the fuel pump.

Either get the in-tank electric pump operating, or get it out of there. It creates an unnecessary restriction to the mechanical pump. Pumps push better than they suck, and you're making it harder for the mechanical to suck. Having a non-op in-tank electric will also make the car more susceptible to vapor lock. But, this wouldn't make the mechanical pump "fail".

Having said all that, new parts have been known to fail while still young.
