fired my engine may have carb problems?
finally fired the engine in my other toy (67 c-10) i have a "880" block 062 heads and an lt1 cam crosswind intake and an edlebrock 1405. base timing set at 12 BTDC. it starts right up and idles nice, punch it from idle and it backfires through the carb. at steady throttle cruising it seems sluggish. im running a holley electric pump(old) with a vane and rotor kit installed and a holley regulator with a new diaphragm kit. fuel pressure set at 5psi (most i can get out of the pump?) after running for a few minutes the fuel pressure drops to 2.5-3 psi and unresponsive to regulator adjustments? also im running a new ebay hei/procomp wire kit. thanks

Make sure the firing order is correct. Make sure all plug wires are fully 'snapped' on the plugs and dist. Test the plug wires for continuity (I've bought many bad plug wires that were 'new'). Are you sure you stabbed the dist at TDC on the compression stroke?
