low fuel pressure
i need some opinions on how to resolve this problem, i have the red holley elec fuel pump,7 psi and the holley 803bp regulator installed with 3/8 inch fuel and fuel return lines. the problem is that i can't adjust the regulator past 4 psi. is that too low for the engine. i hate to remove the recently install regulator, new fuel, return lines. can i just remove the spring from the regulator to get 6 psi or more.

Re: low fuel pressure
Carbs aren't really dependent on fuel pressure like an EFI system, despite what alot of people think. As long as the pump is keeping the fuel bowls adequately full, then pressure isn't really an issue. So if you aren't starving the motor for fuel, I wouldn't worry about the fuel pressure.
