LG4 carb help
Ok guys well let me start off by saying this is my first Camaro, and im loving it
So back round info on it, its an 83 Z28 5 speed LG4. The problem im having is this. Cold start she turns on with no problems and less than a crank
but while shes warming up he idle jumps up. Now i cant give you an exact number because her tach dont work but, you can hear the difference and the oil gauge moves too. So im wondering if i need to adjust her idle screw like any other carb or is there more to this one?
Let me know any suggestions

Re: LG4 carb help
Do you mean the idle is high just after a cold start? This is normal. It needs to be higher when the engines cold or will run very rough and/or stall. If you think it is WAY too high, you can adjust the fast idle screw on the passenger side of the carb. The idle screw on the drivers side is for adjusting your 'normal' idle when the car's already warmed up.
Once the engine's warmed up a bit, blipping the throttle should make the engine rev at a lower RPM ( which is set by the screw on the drivers side of the carb as stated above ). Just make sure your engines fully warmed up before adjusting your 'normal' idle.

Re: LG4 carb help
well no, it raises idle when it warms up lol.. and now my air check valve broke on the driver side... im going to take that air pump out and see about getting headers soon or just plug up the holes for the time being.
