Suspected Carb Problem

Really need some help. Have 84 camaro, 2.8 v6. For the past few weeks the car has been idling very fast whether it's hot , cold outside or whether i've been driving the car all day or or 5 minutes. Then sometimes after you shut it off say to go in a store for 5 minutes, when you go to start it up its acts like it's flooded and you have to hold the gas to the floor and it will finally start. Now for the past week or so, in addition to those it now sometime idles so low that it shuts off if you don't keep your foot on the gas when you push the clutch in or come to a stop, and you always have to pump to gas to get it started again. I guess it could be a sensor of some type but sure sounds like a choke problem. Anybody had this experience with this car and engine? Thanks any help.

Just for starters, maybe a vacuum leak?

This may help... it's summer so wire the choke open and see if problems stay... then unwire the choke after you're finished testing driving around without a choke after a day or two. What's are results?
