millionth time this question has been asked
Ok. For the millionth time. I picked up a car last year that was tpi, now carbed. 85 z28. I have now taken out ecm and wiring harness is sitting in engine bay. I now want to get it out. The previos owner had left a bunch of cut wires inside the loom. I pulled those first. But I still have a bunch of wires that are hooked up to stuff that I don't know what they are and they are part of ecm harness. I will describe some and hopefully somebody can tell me what they are. I can't attach pics because phone won't let me, but if someone can let me text or email them some that would be sweet. My first one: a relay box of some tpye, has big fat orange that has been spliced into batery hot, twice. Then has a green and white wire and a brown and white.

If it comes out of the ECM harness on the pass side loom, it can come out.
If it's not a factory wire (like that rigged-to-battery mess you describe), then your kinda on your own - grab a VOM and trace it out.

It was a factory wire because it comes out ecm harness, but what the relay. Is for I have no clue. So basicalyy though if it is one of the wires on the ecm harness I can trace it however far it goes and take it out?? A lot of them go towars the dizzy are and I haven't traced any further fron there. I know some are coming from that area which has to do with heat and ac , but I have eleminated ac so the rest should be easy to trace

Relay could be fuel pump relay, or a fan relay, or a MAF relay (if your car had MAF).
There are a few wires that generally run from pass side to driver side in the rear (over the tranny) loom, these would be fuel pum prelay wires maybe, and possibly a few others to other sensors on the driver side.

Maybe your fan relay, some of this stuff looped thru the ecm. I would trace it out good before cutting anything else. No matter which side it comes from.
