Hi, I need some help with determing why my 305 with the stock quadrajet won't idle when hot.
What except a vacuum leak could cause this? The car idles when it's warm, but when it's been driven a while in hot weather it dies. The choke opens fine.
Does the ECM do anything to affect idling when the car is warmed as opposed to cold (except the choke), or it's just up to the manifold vacuum?

If the ECM advances the ignition this would increase the RPM, not stall the engine right?
Also if everything is properly working the screw on the carb that raises the idle rpm's shouldn't be used right?

Is this a regular stock 305 with the CCC quadrajet carb?? If it happens after it warms up, it could be because of it going into closed loop. Any codes show up??

 

Yes it's the stock CCC carb. I get a code sometimes when cold, but I think it's the MAP sensor, because it makes it idle high. When I turn it of and start it again the error light does not light up again and it idles fine until it gets hot.
