Re: think line stopped up in tank

I hate the idea of cutting the car - but I'd think the trap door would be easier initially, but need to be tastefully done to reseal the "hole" left behind.

I'd personally drop the tank - requires no fabbing.

Why do you think the line is stopped up in the tank?

Think about what would stop up the line. I can think of two things: 1) Crud in the tank that plugs up the pick-up sock; and 2) a rusted or crushed line. If 1), then you'll want to drop the tank to clean it out (if possible - you may have to replace it). If 2), the line isn't likely to rust inside the tank without the rest of the tank rusting, and for sure isn't likely to get crushed.

I think more information is required before usable advice can be offered.

Also, think about what you are doing and what you're really getting with the trap door. The factory didn't put any line connections there, so you're going to have to cut them as well, then splice them back together when you put it back together (that goes for the electrical wires as well). While cutting out the door, you run the risk of cutting something you don't want to cut, and if things really go sour on you, starting a fire.
