constant flooding

Hi, i have an 84 with a 2.8 in it that floods alot. maybe im not used to carbs but man this thing seems to flood way too often. it doesnt flood while it is sitting but itll get slightly flooded if im not careful with it.

anyone know if thats a common problem with them? btw mine is actually a B code refurb engine which is apparently out of a truck.
