Quick Fuel Carb
Quick Fuel Carb
I'm having a problem with the electric choke on my Quick Fuel carb. I called their tech support and they tell me that these carbs do not have a pull-off valve. So when the choke gets set for me it remains closed tightly and doesn't open a little right away to keep the engine from running too rich.
The best way I have found to solve this is set the choke completely lean and keep pumping the accelerator so the butterfly starts opening quickly allowing the engine to settle in to a fast idle. This way it only runs really rich for the first 15-20 sec or so then smooths out to the fast idle. However, the bad thing about this is that the choke opens 100% too quickly so you have to let it sit and fast idle for 3-4 min. If you touch the accelerator the fast idle kicks down before the engine warms.
I can't be the only person with this problem?!? I LOVE the carb other than this nuisance.
