Vaccum to mechanical?

I have a holley 670 street avenger carb. I only put 5-6000 miles on it and now im going to a manual trans. Is there a cheap way to convert it to mechanical secondaries or so i have to shell out another 300 for a Holley 650dp.

Engine is a 355 making around 380hp.

You'd have to replace it, but nothing's stopping you from using a VS carb with a manual transmission.

So do you think that if i just put in the stiffest spring for most the most throttle response the carb will run fine with the stick shift?

The deal with vacuum secondary and manual trans is that you lose some response, and especially so the slower you shift under load. A very good driver may loose only minimal performance between shifts, but a bad driver could loose a lot.
If best quarter mile times are a must, then it make sense to switch to the manual secondary carb.
If 0.1 - 0.5 tenths of a second isn't going to matter to you, then don't worry about it.

Yes there is a way to convert a vacuum secondary to manual operation, but without the benefit of the second set of squirters (accel pump) there is the likelyhood that you could create a bog under certain driving situations.
A very good driver & tuner can make it work, but getting max performance using the wrong parts isn't always easy.

Alright thanks for the quick responses. So I will probably just run what I have for the year and next year when I can afford better gears in the rear and, will be more concerned with track times then, i will buy a new carb.
