carb cleaning question
just took apart an edelbrock 1405. a buddy gave it to me cuz im carbing my 91 rs. its not real bad looking inside but it has been sittin around for awhile. it has some rust stains inside of it but I cleaned it real good with a parts washer. it looks alot better but still has some rust stains here and there and has white spots all over inside. kinda likethe aluminum oxidation. question is wat can I soak or use to clean it with? someone told me I can boil it in water with baking soda. anyone heard of that before?

Re: carb cleaning question
Get a gallon of carb dip. Comes with a little basket for the fiddly bits, soak it overnight.

Re: carb cleaning question
Never heard of baking soda but a lot of motorcycle guys boil their carbs in lemon juice.

Re: carb cleaning question
Carburetor cleaner. As long as the passages are clean don't worry too much about light aluminum corrosion.
