Hey guys I'm needing some advice on doing the swap. Were swapping it because of tuning issues with the computer, and just don't want the trouble of the TPI setup. I know I will need a new intake, carb, external electric fuel pump, vacuum advance distributor and what not, but is there anything else we will need. Also What do we do with the electrical wiring and the computer. Does it need the computer to run the gauges? And advice is appreciated.

Gauges will be fine, and there is no need to pull the ECM with the wiring. You can disconnect the wiring and tuck it somewhere, but do not rip and cut it though, it defeats the purpose. You can use the stock intank fuel pump, just wire the pump to a switched 12 volt source with the key on and run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator w/return line and bring the pressure down to a more carburetor friendly fuel pressure. You need a stand alone electric fan switch which can be used with the stock electric fan, and you also need to correct the detent cable linkage because it will not be lined up correctly, there is a kit for that (if auto). You also need to run an independent switch for the converter lockup (again, if auto)...

What is the detent cable? And also How do you wire up the convertor lockup?

The detent cable is the TV cable or what is often incorrectly called a kickdown cable on the overdrive auto tranny. Do a search for toque converter lock up and look on Summit etc for kits. Could also do a simple toggle switch but it does have its drawbacks, not being automatically operated it can be forgotten on or off.
