hello i have a 1984 camaro v6 2.8l tbi. and i been having a problem ever since i bought it a few weeks ago. i can start it up and it idles perfect and it drives fun until 30+ mph then it stalls. it seems like when it gets hot it dies. also my car is missing the mass air flor sensor. and i have a few wires not attacked to anything. but i doupt they have anything to do with the fuel/air problem i am having. maybe its my fuel pump or something.. please help!

Check the fuel, air and spark and get that sensor hooked up and them wires sorted. Could be the fuel pump or anything until you do the above.
well idk how to sort those wires 2 of them are messed up on the tips real bad. and the other once has a fat round head on it. and can reach all the way to the right front corner of my car.
any tips on how to check those things would be nice. i am a noob but i love motors and want to get as good with them as possible.

also remember the 2.8 is not TBI...It's MPFI.
maybe EGR valve causing it to die?
Either way, get all the sensors and wiring issues sorted first and go from there. if the engine control parts arent hooked up right or at all you could be throwing parts in it for 10 years.
as far as sorting wires, there's links here on TGO about wiring diagrams. simply check the color of the wires, general location and where they probably go, and cross reference with the diagram.

Actually, '84 V6 was the last year for carb.
So, hogster, what exactly DO you have?

yep, which he might be mistaking for a carb. not sure how, they look and are set up completely different. injectors vs floats, bowl, accelerator pump....Originally Posted by five7kid
