Rebuilt carb wont run now.
Rebuilt carb wont run now.
I have a 84 camaro, It was running before I took off the carb, I rebuilt it and pt it back on and it didnt run so i went and bought a carb off a running truck and it still wont fire, i have fuel air and spark. I have a new hei distributor in it and a new ignition moduler. Everything is on time, spark wires are on the right points, im confused why it wont start, timing can't be an issue because it was in time before the carb change. i also tried pouring gas down the carb and still no pops just starter turning it over and i can hear its compression strokes
PLEASE HELP!!

Was the new distributor in prior to the rebuild or did you do it at the same time?

What kind of carb? Can you see fuel getting to the carb?

Is it computer controlled? Are you sure you had approprite spark when you tested?

Pull the plugs and look at them. If they're gunked up black, clean them off and try again with just a little bit of fuel poured down the carb, maybe a couple teaspoons. With no choke on and no throttle see if it will fire.
