Edelbrock electric choke issue

This is my first carb'd vehicle. When I got it the choke was wired open - no wires to electric choke. I wired 12v to it from fuse box, grounded it, and adjusted thermostat to the middle. Set choke run at around 1200 rpm. Can't get choke to engage at start up. What am I doing wrong?

set the choke almost closed when cold if the electric part works it should open as needed as you press the gas

Re: Edelbrock electric choke issue

What if electric part is broken? Need new thermostat?

If you turn key and its cold will it trip choke linkage to increase the idle instantly? What temp will cause choke to engage?

the choke is egauged wene you press the gas should have about 1/8 to 3/8 gap at rear of flap on top your carb adj when cold in that position adj fast idle screw when fully open adj idle mix screws on front of carb strat with 1 and 1/2 turns out
