Help

I have some 14101083 heads, and I am wondering if they will work fine with a 96 350 block with an LT 1 camshaft in it? And also would like to know if I would have to do anything special to the heads, and what would be the best carb intake for this set up? Thank you for your information on these question.

Welcome to TGO!

What year/model of car do you have?

What else have you done to the motor?

Those heads aren't LT1 heads, so I don't believe they'll support the reverse flow of the LT1. Someone with more knowledge on it may have a better answer.

Re: Help

You guys are going to hate me, it is going in a truck, and everything is staying stock for now. The heads I believe, came from a TPI engine, the block is a 350 with an LT1 camshaft that a friend sold to me cheap but all is stock.

Re: Help

I'm 90% sure you need LT1 heads for an LT1 motor.

Re: Help

Sorry I thought it was an LT 1 block, but it is a 1996 350 out of a truck with the LT 1 camshaft in it.

If it was put in a truck by the factory, it isn't an LT1. It was called "Vortec". First year for that engine (heads and induction were the biggest changes).

While the 083 heads are okay, the heads the block had on it originally would be better.

To use the 083 heads with a carb, you need a carb intake manifold for '87-'95 Gen I small block Chevy.

Re: Help

My friend kept the heads, but gave me an LT 1 camshaft with the block. So it will have that cam in it. Will it work, or do I need to get a different one?
