wiring help
hey guys.
i was doing a carb conversion on a 1988 trans am gta last week.
i removed the tpi set-up and the ecu harness.everything was going good.
and then a buddy of mine turned on the key and did some thing under the hood( long story short he touched the 12v wire from the distributer on th motor and shorted somthing as i have now power now.)
not really sure of where to check for the problem.i checked out the fuse panal and there is no burnt fuses. and now i am gonna take out the harness to check out the fusable links and the wires but idk what to do besides that .
any help would be great !
thanks guys

I think you meant to say you now have no power at the distributor.
The fusible link is a good place to check, but you should have lost power to other things if that was the problem (exactly what escapes me right now - there are two coming from the battery cable on the starter).
I'd also look at the firewall bulkhead connector, and maybe even the ignition switch itself. Without looking over the schematic, though, I'm not sure if the ignition switch is a viable suspect.
