Just got done rebuilding my head gasket and she ran great for a day but i have all the signs of low fuel pressure and it stalls under any stress if i dont give it gas. My question Is which fuel pump would i be replacing

 

need more details. what engine, year, you have a mech and an elec fuel pump?

 

86 camaro 305 carbed. Sport coupe. When.i.first.start it.it.idles really high and then i put it in gear and it tries to launch off but once it warms up if i.dont give it gas it dies no matter what speed. Its got a full tune up. Timings good. I dont know how to check fuel pressure. I have a electric pump for my car but does my car even have one? Cause i.know i have a mechanical pump. Do i have both? My carb is fine ive been down.that road

 

mr. Miguel. as much as you have done already. be careful of where you buy parts. such as "pep boys, auto zone, advance, they all specialize in china junk. try and find a carter brand fuel pump,get one for a 350 truck.BUT before you attach the fuel inlet hose to it. blow 10 lbs of compressed air back thru the line ,while you have the gas cap off.have a friend listen for bubbles.more than once I have found that the fuel inlet filter sock in the tank is clogged/deteriorated. causing all manner of WTF! moments. this could be your issue.and the fuel filter in your Q-jet carb,is it clean?? good luck ,and don't give up

 

Get a carter m6626. Under $20. If you don't get a pump with a return line you will be having a whole other host of fuel problems.
