Mounting regulator on block

Hey guys.
Has anyone ever mounted their fuel pressure regulator on the block where the mechanical pump would be?
If so, how did you mount it?
And, did you fab up a hardline, or use flexible braided?

I don't see why you couldn't fab up a mount bracket and mount it there, I've also seen a few mounted to the front of the driver's side head, where the A/c bracket would be on an A/C equipped car; and yeah, most folks use flex line.

Re: Mounting regulator on block

i put mine on the fender where there was a cruise actuator on my 6cyl car, to me it seems like a safety issue, if you have drips which always happen, i would rather it be away from the hot engine and exhaust. also need to be able to see the gauge and adjust the screw

Re: Mounting regulator on block

Looks like I won't be able to mount it to the block anyway. Even with a 90 degree fitting, the inlet touches the motor mount.
Does the regulator really need to be bolted to anything? Can it be 'supported' by the lines themselves?

I personally wouldn't. I have mind mounted to the passenger side strut tower.

Re: Mounting regulator on block

I just fabbed up a quick bracket. This was during the test fitting and construction process.
