Another damn choke light thread grrrr
Another damn choke light thread grrrr
Ok, my car is no longer cc. Its got a 350 crate motor (was 305).
Quadrajet 4 barrel.
The choke light stays on all the time.
The choke has 14.2 v going to it when the car is running and of course 0 v when off.
The alternator is new and the guage on the dash shows it as charging. It been this way for awhile and unless there is some weird circuit in the alternator that would trigger this light but, still let it charge I cannot see it being the alternator.
The choke seems to work ok. The weather this morning was around 48* and it started above 1000 rpm then came down as its suppose too.
I know where there the white relay is in the pull down tray under the dash but, if it did not work I wouldnt have voltage at the choke.
The car runs great btw. Its just not being able to diagnose this light annoying charging/choke light bothers me.
Either I fix this darn thing or some back tape is going on the lil plastic indicator lense behind the actual gauge.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.

I ha the same problem and found the electronic choke wasn't getting enough power to work. Traced the wire back to the fire wall and cut and spliced into another wire that was hot with the ignition.
