max cam / min vac for CCC QJ 305

So I just bought another '86 Camaro, a Sport Coupe with a 305, so for now I assume stock LG4 with 9.5:1.
As SBC cams cost the same for the wild grinds as for the mild, and we all want the most power, why not get the most cam?
So, I've been doing a lot of reading, seems the XE262 is either pushing the extreme limits of what the CCC QJ can do on a 305, or is outright too much cam for a CCC 305.
So, what's the most "safe" cam?

I've tried the Comp 12-388-4 in an L69, it had no top-end, and 19" of idle vacuum. I hated it.

How about this?

The XE262 should be okay. The Lunati as well.

Although the LG4 exhaust would be limiting to either one.

I had the same issue with my 87. I put in a cam, and the CCC couldnt keep up with the needed changes. I sent it to Sean Murphy Induction in Huntington Beach, CA. he re did the whole thing and set it up for my car. Runs better than ever, no check engine light or anyting.

I agree, SFCs and exhaust are the first 2 mods for these cars, i already have a 3" Flowmaster from a previous 3rd gen i had
XE262 has similar overlap to the HE268 which is cali-legal, and Comp certified that in an 87 Camaro LG4 with no other mods nor even tuning adjustments, gotta wonder how they managed that and why they tried such a cam, but it makes it tempting to use it, being the biggest legal cam, choose the gearing and converter to match

I ordered the Lunati Barebones 214/224-112, 280/290, 442/465 for my 9.5:1 '86 LG4. I'll report back how it does.
